This summer PAAC celebrated the 5th anniversary of our Vietnam Service Learning Study Tour, in partnership with Glocal Literacy Foundation! PAAC students step into the shoes of teachers by preparing reading, art, and music lessons to help elementary students learn English. This year they taught at three schools, including a school for the deaf. Without question, they returned to Hawaii with a new appreciation for their own teachers and educational opportunities. Outside of the classroom, they did cultural activities with local teens and experienced Vietnam’s rich culture and history with excursions to Hue, Hanoi, and My Son.
