"The Mission Continues is not a charity; it's a challenge."
-Christopher Marvin, 2007 Mission Continues Fellow, Hawai'i

The Mission Continues: Veterans Tribute Project
The Mission Continues is a non-profit organization built on the belief that our returning wounded should be recognized not only for the sacrifices they have made, but for everything they have left to give. The organization awards Fellowships to empower wounded and disabled veterans to serve in their communities. In doing so, they send the message: "We still need you." America owes these men and women a great deal, but as a nation, we have much left to learn from them. While injury may have changed the nature of their service, their mission continues, and it is as important as ever.

They also believe that the best way to honor service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice is to live their beliefs. Citizens are encouraged to join in service by leading a Veterans Tribute Project. In doing so, they honor our fallen by continuing their mission of service.
The Mission Continues Veterans Tribute honors our fallen military men and women by empowering citizens to complete service projects on behalf of a service member killed in the line of duty. Through the Veterans Tribute Projects, we can continue our military members' mission of service here at home.

PAAC has partnered with The Mission Continues to create Veterans Tribute Projects throughout the next school year in honor of First Lieutenant Nainoa Hoe:

First Lieutenant Nainoa Hoe was raised in Kailua, Hawai'i. He was an avid surfer and swimmer who took great pride in his Hawaiian ancestry. He was a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of Hawai'i. Nainoa was shot by a sniper while leading his Army infantry platoon in combat operations in Iraq. He died on January 22, 2005.

For more information about Nainoa Hoe, visit: http://www.missioncontinues.org/About/inmemoriam/hoe

Any community service project that your PAAC Club or After-School Class participates in can become a Veterans Tribute Project. PAAC can also connect you to resource speakers to talk about topics including military service, leadership, and the connection between students, PAAC, and The Mission Continutes.

Veterans Tribute Project reports will be posted here throughout the year.
