Teacher Workshop: Cultural Legacies

PAAC, in conjunction with the East-West Center Arts Program, will be holding a teacher workshop open to all teachers K-12 on Friday, Nov. 2, 5:30-8:30pm and Saturday, Nov. 3, 8:30am-5:30pm at East-West Center, Burns Hall. 

Cultural Legacies: Transmitting Knowledge and Preserving Traditions

This Teacher Workshop will feature Cultural Legacies of Hawai‘i and programming will include presentations by practitioners/scholars, curriculum lessons, a guided gallery tour, a performance-demonstration, and historical/cultural fieldtrip of Chinatown.

The workshop is connected thematically to the current East-West Center Gallery Exhibition: “Capturing a Legacy: Four Generations of Nepalese Photographers.” The exhibit tells the story of the legacy of the Chitrakar family as artists and visual documentarians. They have caught key moments in Nepal’s history through the lens of four generations of photographers. 

Register by October 19th.  Fee: $10
