New After-School Global Studies Class At Waialua

This semester, PAAC expanded our after-school class program to Waialua High School! PAAC’s after-school classes develop students’ understanding of global issues, trends, and perspectives necessary to compete in a globalized economy, while providing a safe learning environment and an opportunity to earn credits that count toward DOE graduation requirements. This past semester, students were introduced to Japanese culture and customs, history, geography, and immigration; Micronesians in Hawai‘i; and Oceanic Art. The picture above shows students examining Oceanic artifacts from the Honolulu Arts Lending Library.
